Every project on this site followed this workflow. It isn't a diagram from a textbook — it's the sequence I've personally executed, bench time included, across four products.

    Requirements

    Define what the product must do, its constraints, and its environment.

  2. 02

    Architecture

    Partition the system — power, control, sensing, communication, UI.

  3. 03

    Schematic

    Capture the design with components selected for performance and availability.

  4. 04

    PCB Layout

    Multi-layer layout and routing with DFM in mind from rev A.

  5. 05

    Prototype

    Fabricate, assemble, and rework boards on the bench.

  6. 06

    Firmware

    Embedded C on bare metal or RTOS — drivers, control, UI.

  7. 07

    Bring-Up

    First power-on, rail checks, clocks, programming interfaces.

  8. 08

    Testing

    Oscilloscope-based validation of signals, power, and behavior.

  9. 09

    Validation

    Iterate hardware and firmware until the design is reliable.

  10. 10

    Production

    DFM revisions, vendor coordination, and manufacturing support.
